Don't Panic -- 'Ghostbusters' Only A Temporary PS2, PS3 Exclusive In Europe

Gamers were in an uproar this morning when Atari and Sony announced a last-minute deal that would make the upcoming G hostbusters: The Video Game a temporary, timed exclusive for PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3...in Europe. Atari has since confirmed to GameIndustry.biz this deal does not apply to the United States and the game will still be published on Xbox 360, PC, DS and Wii on June 16. Europe will still see the other versions of Ghostbusters , however, with Atari expecting to announce the revised release schedule "sometime soon." Sony's interest in championing Ghostbusters isn't surprising, either, since PlayStation 3 was the lead development platform for the game. Most studios this generation have lead on Xbox 360 because it was easier to hit the ground running. I reported this just a little over a year ago at MTV Multiplayer .
