DSiWare Takes Nintendo Downloadable Spotlight

It's the dawn of a new era for Nintendo downloads, as the arrival of the Nintendo DSi also signals the advent of DSiWare. Five new games jostle with the traditional WiiWare and Virtual Console releases this week, making this a crowded Monday for Nintendo downloaders. On the more traditional front, April gets off to a relatively quiet start after a stellar March, with Uncharted Waters: New Horizons debuting on the Virtual Console for 800 Wii Points ($8). This SNES title sounds a bit like Sid Meier's classic Pirates! , save that it casts the player as an Age of Discovery explorer rather than a swashbuckler. Meanwhile, WiiWare picks up Equilibrio for 500 Wii Points ($5), which challenges players to move a ball toward an exit while avoiding "deadly obstacles" like spikes and acid pools.
