Electronic Arts has announced they've entered into a partnership with Toy Island to release a new line of EA Sports-branded sporting goods. That would be real life sporting goods that you can play with. You know, outside. We're very tempted to write here, "For EA Sports, it seems it's no longer just... in the game ," but then we'd have to flog ourselves in penance.
The merchandise will be created for baseball, football, basketball, soccer, and hockey, but these won't be ordinary, every-day sporting goods -- each item will utilize infrared, motion, and equilibrium sensors to "instruct the user on form and technique, speed and power, and more." We're guessing the "more" is standing in for "eventually become self-aware, grow limbs, and attempt to destroy you."
