Elevation Partners co-founder Roger McNamee thinks that the upcoming Palm Pre will cause legions of iPhone users to switch to Sprint. Gamers will remember that Elevation Partners as the investment company that infused BioWare and Pandemic with 300-million dollars. The company is also a huge backer of Palm, so take his words with a giant cube of salt. In an interview with Bloomberg , McNamee said:
"You know the beautiful thing: June 29, 2009, is the two-year anniversary of the first shipment of the iPhone. Not one of those people will still be using an iPhone a month later.Think about it -- If you bought the first iPhone, you bought it because you wanted the coolest product on the market. Your two-year contract has just expired. Look around. Tell me what they’re going to buy."
While I'm sure the Palm Pre will do really well, I don't think it'll put a major dent into the iPhone's installed base. It's an exciting product, no doubt, but I see it as a more attractive ...
