Did you play F.E.A.R. ? No, the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions don't count, and neither does stuff like Perseus Mandate or F.E.A.R. Files . I'm talking about the original F.E.A.R. for PC, created by Monolith Productions -- not the ports and expansions farmed out to different developers. F.E.A.R. was a flawed-yet-snazzy horror first-person shooter that, despite repetitive enemies and environments, completely nailed the actual feel of combat and gunplay. Now that Monolith's wrapping up FEAR 2: Project Origin (Monolith snagged the F.E.A.R. name back from Vivendi after the Activision-Blizzard merger), here's a quick list of the ways this game's already better than the first -- and why it shouldn't be overlooked this time around.
