Falcom Announces Ys Seven, Ys I & II Remake

Long years after Falcom 's departure from the console mainstream, the classic Japanese adventure developer may be back. At an event dubbed the "Ys Fair" in Akihabara today, Falcom announced two new titles in their marquee action RPG series for an unknown platform: Ys Seven, due in fall, and Ys I & II Chronicles, due in summer. Both games were represented by nothing more than image artwork. Although third parties have been releasing console ports of Falcom games for years (the upcoming Legacy of Ys Books 1 And 2 is one such example), Falcom itself recently returned to non-PC platforms after a decade-and-change absence. Since 2007's Gurumin , the company has experienced wild success on PSP, primarily through their Sora no Kiseki series of RPGs. Falcom's first PSP-exclusive title, a remake of the legendary dungeon-crawler Brandish , is releasing this month. (link)
