Fresh PSP-4000 details speculated

 
Controls will be masked by sliding screen Yet more idle chit-chat this evening on the long rumoured PSP-4000 handheld, sometimes described as PSP2. We've already had Acclaim chief Dave Perry proclaiming that he's heard about the new model - which will apparently feature a sliding display front, and will drop the UMD drive that was a mixed blessing for the current PSP SKU. Eurogamer.net believe they've heard more on the new model from a development insider 'close' to Sony, who has reportedly confirmed the absence of the UMD drive, as well as the sliding screen design. The screen is reportedly the same as the PSP-3000, albeit with a sliding structure, which sees most of the system's controls hidden behind the screen until revealed. This makes the whole unit much narrower we hear. When the sliding panel is closed, most features are inaccessible, however, the shoulder buttons are still available - and these will offer some control in a few areas (such as in games like Loco Roco 2) ...
