Hudson Shows Two '09 Wii Titles

 
Last week, Hudson Entertainment came by the 1UP office and showed us two of their upcoming Wii games and let us try them out, though these games couldn't be any more different from one another if they tried. The first game was Onslaught , a sci-fi first-person shooter only on WiiWare. An FPS is a first for Hudson, and this is their least "cuddly" title in a few years. The story involves taking down a wave of rogue robotic insects, but it's largely unimportant -- the stages have a fairly loose thread between them, and are broken up between several tiers. Some are straight survival runs, while others are more focused, defensive-type missions, like simply keeping the bugs from reaching your base for a few minutes. Either way, the thrust of the game is to shoot a lot of different big bugs with big guns (you wield a machine gun, shotgun, rifle, grenades, and so on -- even an energized whip as a melee weapon).
