Is Sony Planning A PSP Game Rental Download Service?

 
Last month, Nintendo’s DSi download shop opened , giving DSi fans the chance to enjoy the easy of browsing, downloading and playing new games, all from the comfort of their hands. Sony PSP users have been enjoying this feature for some time now, but there is still one feature that neither offers at this point, a rental service. Well, based on a consumer survey sent to the folks over at Joystiq , it looks like Sony could be looking to change that. According to the survey, the hypothetical service would let users rent a fixed number of titles for a flat monthly rate (ala any through-the-mail rental service), chosen from a library updated on a regular basis with old and newly released titles. There’s no mention of expiration dates or how many games you would be allowed to store at one time, but I’m guessing there would be some tracking feature to detect how many rental titles you have, and then prevent you from renting any more until you delete the ones you have.
