Movie Critics Bombard Terminator Salvation with Video Game Comparisons

 
What, you thought that just because Grandma and Grandpa are playing Wii Sports, that the mainstream has accepted video games as a viable medium? Ha! As if. Apparently, the latest thing in Hollywood is to use the word "video game" if you're going to put down on a movie you don't like. Okay, so that may not be exactly "new," but it certainly seems to have reached a new level of prominence and consistency as critics tried to find something to say about last weekend's release of Terminator Salvation. Just a small sampling of what critics are saying includes "looks less like a movie than a hybridized video game," "the film proceeds with video-game logic," and "they seem to have been designed for video games and Toys R Us spinoffs rather than for movie sequels." You can find a smattering more over at Kotaku, where they even went the extra mile to learn that this actually is not only not new, but was even applied to 1991's Terminator 2, which itself had an NES game.
