Resistance: Retribution 'Cover Fire' gameplay
A new demo for Resistance: Retribution just came in to the office, and, though it's not long, it shows off the detailed graphics and the PSP-specific controls. In the clip above, you get to see a few of the weapons and a battle against a massive Metal Gear Solid -style mech. Shield stations positioned around the room protected me from the brunt of the enemy's fire, and kept me alive long enough to win. But it's the controls, not the visuals, under the closest scrutiny in this miniaturized version of the PS3 exclusive franchise.
You can check out the cover system in action as I take on a few chimera grunts (followed by a surprise visit from two massive bad guys) right here . I was a little apprehensive about aiming in a third person shooter without the precision of dual analog sticks, but Resistance handles the PSP's limitations well. It felt like Goldeneye ...
