If you're thinking about changing your PlayStation Network username or password anytime in the near future, you might want to hold up a bit. An error stemming from firmware version 2.50 may make your life difficult.
Computer and Video Games is reporting that changing your PSN username or password may corrupt Trophy data. Affected players receive an error message notifying them that there was a failure to sync Trophy data when they try to run Wipeout HD , Burnout Paradise , LittleBigPlanet and Pain .
Luckily, there's a do-it-yourself fix for those who are struck by this particular error. If you delete your game data, use the backup option to create a full backup of the harddrive, then restore the PS3 from the backup. Once you reinstall the affected game and the Trophy data, the sync should work fine.
