1Up's David Ellis (one of G4's favorite drinking buddies) has been scouring the Earth for details on the PlayStation Portable 2. Through numerous unnamed sources, he has confirmed several details about the upcoming handheld system. Some of them were completely expected, while some of the details are new. Here's the (supposed) skinny on the next PSP:
It will not have a UMD drive; all the games will be downloaded and stored on internal memory
It will not have a second analog stick
There will be two versions: 8GB and 16GB
The name will likely be PlayStation Portable Go!
The system will be unveiled at E3 2009
It will be available in Japan in September 2009 and America in October or November 2009
Ellis further speculates that the PSP Go! will borrow several design elements from Sony's Mylo 2 portable Internet device. If the release dates are accurate then this makes a lot of sense. Sony could use leftover Mylo parts -- and I'm certain ...
