Let's face it, most people dismissed this Wii port of the PS2 Rygar the day it was first announced. Rygar's a game that hardly made an impact in its time; it's six years-old at this point, and it's hardly been enhanced for this version (unless you consider the new outfit and hairdo for our hero a significant upgrade). The Wii version was also delayed several times for no apparent reason, giving people either little faith in the port or more reasons to have it drop further off their radar. So yeah, with all of those things going against it, Rygar for Wii had all the makings of a game that would be utterly dead on arrival.
What a shame that would be, because it's one of my favorite games on the platform.
I have to admit, I'm a big fan of the PS2 original -- it's one of my all-time favorite action games. Sure, it's rough around the edges, but in terms of pure, straight-up 3D action games, I consider it right up there with ...
