The newest edition of Sessler's Soapbox features X-Play's Adam Sessler lamenting the frustrations found when dealing with collectibles in numerous games, from Banjo-Kazooie to Grand Theft Auto IV to Fable II.
Personally, I like collectibles, but more as an additional thing to do; I really, really hate it when it's the crux of a game. Donkey Kong 64 was like a descent into madness; I'd love to give that one another try at a decent playthrough, but only if they toned it down a little. If they did that for a DS version, I might consider laying down the money for it.
What about you guys? At what point do you say "enough is enough (and it's time for a change!)?" Or is there ever enough?
