Square Enix And Eidos Co-Developing A Brand New IP

 
It’s been a few months since gaming giant Square Enix acquired publisher Eidos Interactive, and since then, we haven’t heard much about any possible Hitman Fantasy XIII or Thief: Deadly Chocobo games, which seemed to suggest that the two companies were busy working out a strategy that would best accommodate each of their distinctive styles, goals, etc. Well, as Gamasutra reports , it turns out that’s precisely what Square and Eidos have been up to over the past few months. What’s more interesting though is that, according to Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada, Square and Eidos are in fact working jointly on a brand new IP. Given how different each of these companies’ games are, I can’t even imagine what kind of game they would create together. Wada addressed this issue, saying, “What's going to be important is to be able to get a mutual understanding of each of the quarters so that we will be able [to create it], and what is going to be born from this ...
