Square Enix Delays Financial Results, Stock Hits Five-Year Low
Gamasutra reports that Square Enix's announced a delay to its earning announcement, resulting in a five-year low to its stock value. The 11% drop on the Tokyo Stock Exchange followed directly after the company delayed its earnings, blaming "accounting work." The announcement is now scheduled to come on February 12.
A delayed earnings call alone is enough to make investors nervous, but some might be more afraid that Square Enix is set to announce delays to tentpole releases like Final Fantasy XIII or Dragon Quest IX . The company itself hasn't given any signs of this, but a last-minute earnings delay is bound to fan the flames of speculation. We'll see exactly what they do have to say next week.
