You know all those replica Final Fantasy swords that you see in hobby shops across America? The one's that are usually kind of (okay, really) expensive? Well, don't try to counterfeit them, or Square Enix will come after you.
The owners of Edgework Imports, Top Swords and Wholesale Gallery learned this the hard way, as they recently settled with Square Enix for a consent jugement of $600,000 as well as injunctive relief, with other terms being kept private. Square Enix General Counsel Yasuhiko Hasegawa had a few words for future pirates.
"We will continue to actively pursue those who commit intellectual property infringement against our companies. We appreciate the efforts of our fans in identifying those who seek to sell them cheap replicas that undermine our efforts to bring only top quality goods and content to our customers.?
