The Last Remnant Review

 
The Last Remnant 's initial release on the 360 was... troubled . But Square Enix listened to the criticism leveled at the game and produced the PC game that, while not perfect, is what should have come out in the first place. At first, I was skeptical that any upgrade could make the game something enjoyable, but Square did more than just fix the laggy battles; they overhauled entire sections of the game. Remnant's narrative still doesn't approach the best the company has put out, but the lengthy campaign provides a lot to like for players addicted to RPG grinding. The first, most noticeable improvement to this PC port is how, without the 360's horrendous lag, the battles proceed much more briskly. And you can even hold down Shift to initiate Turbo Mode, letting you quickly advance the battle. But my favorite new addition is that you can add any number of "leader" characters to your party.
