SD card storage confirmed, new WiiWare offerings spied Speaking at a GDC keynote today, Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata has said that the Wii console has now passed 50 million in sales... just hours after the Nikkei predicted that the milestone was close.
Chatting at the San Francisco event, Iwata-san also announced that a WiiWare version of Final Fantasy IV The After Years is on the way, as is a sequel to Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King.
A storage solution for the console was also revealed by the Japanese big-wig, who notes that the system will now support the running of games directly from SD cards. Virtual Console and WiiWare titles are covered, although saves won't be supported oddly.
Apparently, the new SD storage solution can support up to 240 games according to the boss, while yet another WiiWare title was unveiled during the keynote: Rock and Roll Climber.
This unusual title will use the Wiimote, Nunchuck and Balance Board in tandem, creating a rock climbing ...
