Media: DC Universe Online - 15 Images of Nightwing Out Clubbin'

Sony Online Entertainment has released a batch of new screenshots and images of one Nightwing, and you can find those in our gallery. What they did not release, however, is any information on what to expect from the character, so I guess it's up to me. First of all, Nightwing is a Dick. Dick Grayson, that is, the original Robin who went into battle at Batman's side. He grew up, decided that emerald short-pants weren't his thing, and ditched it for a new look and persona, plus a pair of Escrima truncheons. Though his persona looks darker, he's still a more friendly character than Bats. And speaking of which, he has all that handy Bat-training, plus a few tools of the trade, and it's a lucky thing, too, seeing as Bruce Wayne is currently preoccupied with being not-dead and such, thus leaving young Master Grayson to take up the mantle of the bat. How the Feast of Fools began... Batman: one of the biggest licenses of all time. Rocksteady Studios: a relatively small-fry development team with just one, albeit universally well received, game to their name. We're not claiming Batman titles have always been handled by the best dev teams going - which is probably why past efforts have been utter garbage - but awarding Rocksteady the license seemed to be, from the outside at least, a gamble. Modern Warfare 2 and Assassin's Creed II Pay Homage to Mario

In Modern Warfare 2, there are at least fifty "callsigns" which players can obtain for... well, something. To be honest, I'm not entirely clear on the concept from what little I've read about it. I guess it's similar to how Batman has his emblem... Anyway, the developers snuck in a little nod to one of gaming's icons and one of their competitors for the holiday season, Mario. As you can see to your right, one callsign is an 8-bit version of Price, modeled on the Mario pixel art from the very first Super Mario Bros. game. It's a neat little nod, but it's not the only one to find its way into one of the holiday season's big titles.

Warner To Announce Status Of Batman 3 In January?

Will we know more about Batman 3 sooner rather than later? A rumor is currently circulating that Warner Bros. will make some sort of official announcement on the status of the heavily-discussed sequel to The Dark Knight. The discussion originated from a Batman fansite called Batman-on-Film , who claim the breaking news from their "solid and longtime source." While Batman 3 may already be the top source of Internet blog chatter, the drama surrounding the question of whether or not director, Christopher Nolan would return for this third film has been a fruitful source in its own right for much of the rumor mills. According to BOF's source, Warner is (understandably) a bit anxious to get this franchise sequel off the ground, and if Nolan drags his heels too long, they may just move on without his directorial talents. The rhythm game genre is reaching a saturation point and LEGO Rock Band is yet another example of publishers actively looking at new ways to try and keep things fresh and interesting for the established fan base. Unfortunately, while the LEGO brand has been enough to help other licenses like Star Wars and Batman find new life, it just doesn't do enough to elevate Rock Band to new heights.

What the Game's About Marvel Super Hero Squad is a tag team beat 'em up game that takes some iconic Marvel heroes, mixes up the art style and injects some off-beat humor that seems to take its cues from the 60s Batman TV show. The story begins with Dr. Doom up to his dastardly tricks and enlisting the help of fellow super villains to forge the all powerful Infinity Sword. The Super Hero Squad (members of the Avengers) must work together to save the world in a beat 'em up style game with some platforming elements. What's Hot Super Hero Squad is a drastic departure from the often serious nature of comic books. When you first begin your super adventure, it might look a lot like a Muppet Babies approach to sacred comic icons. Those fears will be put to ease because the style and writing is more like Homestar Runner. Dragon Quest, Batman Drive Square Enix First-Half Sales Hike As Profits Fall

A hike in first fiscal half sales wasn't enough to boost profits for Tokyo, Japan-based Square Enix, which was hit by unfavorable exchange rates and costs related to recent layoffs. Future Possibilities for Batman Games "Excite" Rocksteady

Batman: Arkham Asylum blew everyone away upon its release, with many happily declaring it the best comic book-based video game of all time. But Batman has many tales and many foes; what chances are there for a sequel? After all, they've already said they're waiting to see if people like the game, and it's quite clear that they do. The question was put forth in the newest issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine (issue 38, available now), and Rocksteady co-owner/co-founder Sefton Hill replied "I'm not really allowed to comment on that, but there are definitely lots of exciting stories to tell in Batman's world, and I can say that we're really privileged to work on it, and excited about future possibilities." I wouldn't mind seeing what else they could do with the Dark Knight, perhaps in an open-world Gotham. Of course, with DC reviving Batman Beyond in comic form, I'd be equally excited to see what Rocksteady could do with that; there must be redemption after the Return of the Joker game. [Image]

Rocksteady Hints At Batman: Arkham Asylum Sequel

The newest issue of PlayStation: The Official Magazine hints that Rocksteady Games is working on (or planning to work on, or would like to work on) a sequel to awesome super-hero action game Batman: Arkham Asylum . "I’m not really allowed to comment on that, but there are definitely lots of exciting stories to tell in Batman’s world," Sefton Hill, co-founder of Rocksteady Studios, said. "I can say that we’re really privileged to work on it, and excited about future possibilities." Okay, that's hardly a scream of "We're totally working on Arkham Asylum 2 !" but it's encouraging nonetheless. That game is so solid, I want Rocksteady to make every Batman game from now until the end of time. What would you like to see in a follow-up to Arkham ? Have any of you ever played a role playing game (or still do)? I don't mean Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest-- I mean a real RPG, the pen-and-paper tabletop stuff with dice rolls and actual role-playing. If you have, then you're undoubtedly familiar with failing a roll for a crucial action. Or perhaps worse, attempting to do something that, if successful, would be really cool... and then failing in an embarrassing fashion. The Dark Knight detective, Batman, is a master of hiding in the shadows, something he puts to great use in his latest video game, Batman: Arkham Asylum. But, can you imagine if Batman failed his "hide in shadows" and "move silently" rolls? See more funny videos and funny pictures at CollegeHumor.
