Capcom has released a 'Lost Planet 2 Boss Profile' for the Gordiant seen at the end of the previously released demos, dubbed the Salamander back then.
Media: Titans Clash in New Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars Videos and Art

It's kind of funny, in a way. In the upcoming Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars, a game about pairing some of the greatest of Capcom's mighty heroes into teams against some of the finest superstars of Tatsunoko, there is one match-up in particular which I am quite looking forward to, and it doesn't involve any team pairing at all.

That battle is, of course, the mighty Great Lightan against the PTX-40A "Hardballer" from Lost Planet, touted as "the finest Vital Suit ever produced." And in addition to artwork of both mighty mecha now decorating our gallery, Capcom has provided videos of the two in action, showing off some new moves they didn't have in the previous version of the title.

First up: Grrrrrreat Liiiiiiiiightaaaaaan!

"Oh, you've got to be kidding!" What an apt reaction.

Capcom Releases Final Dark Void Cinematic Trailer

Dark Void was supposed to be released around this time before catching the popular delay bug. Capcom decided to push Dark Void back into early 2010, which means the marketing campaign for Dark Void is starting to ramp down before the company makes its big push next month. Capcom's passed on what it's calling the "final" cinematic trailer for Dark Void before releasing January 12.

Xbox 360 | XBL, PSN brace for Final Fight: Double Impact

Downloadable two-pack to include seminal arcade beat-'em-up and Magic Sword with graphic filters, online co-op play next April.
The Final Fight series has been mostly mothballed since 2006's poorly reviewed Final Fight: Streetwise , but Capcom is looking to change that. The publisher has announced that it is prepping Final Fight: Double Impact as a downloadable release for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Both games in Double Impact have an option to emulate the look of the arcade cabinet, as well as the gameplay.
Double Impact will feature a tweaked version of the 1989 arcade original Final Fight, as well as next year's side-scrolling arcade action game Magic Sword. The "Double Impact" moniker has been used by Capcom once before for 2000's Street Fighter III: Double Impact on the Dreamcast, a combo pack featuring the arcade fighter's first two revisions.

Media: The Second Impact of Final Fight: Double Impact

Following the reveal of Final Fight: Double Impact by IGN late last week, Capcom has made it's official official announcement today.

We know most of the information already, but there are a few tidbits that went unmentioned, such as a selectable remixed soundtrack by the composers behind Bionic Commando Rearmed and a Vault filled with content created by developers and fans alike.

New screens and assets are in our gallery, and you can read the full press release after the cut.

Find more top gaming news, videos, and blogs on GamerBlips: Gaming, Final Fight, Capcom, Bionic Commando Rearmed

For decades, Capcom has been the home to an entire catalog of enjoyable games, franchises, and properties. The unfortunate part, however, is that not all of them get the same amount of time in the spotlight.

Fortunately, it appears that the gentlemen of the Capcom*Unity are working on a way for fans to make their voices heard regarding which games and series they would like to see make their return. When asked what the best way to show support for a third title in the MegaMan Legends series (The Misadventures of Tron Bonne notwithstanding), Capcom's Community Manager, Seth Killian, said "Actually, we're working on a way for you to be able to do just such a thing, and hope to have the new Unity feature available soon-ish."

Find more top gaming news, videos, and blogs on GamerBlips: Gaming, Capcom, Megaman Legends, The Misadventures of Tron Bonne

Final Fight: Double Impact Revealed for PSN/XBLA

Capcom has revealed that they'll release a new downloadable double-pack in April titled Final Fight: Double Impact , which will feature the return of their classic arcade beat-em-up Final Fight as well as their side-scrolling fantasy-tinged beat-em-up Magic Sword ( via IGN).
Although details are scarce, it sounds like both games will be receiving an HD graphics boost similar to Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix , as IGN's tipster said the release will feature both classic visuals and a new visual mode that'll "make the games shine in crisp and clear HD glory." Both games will also support leaderboards, and best of all, drop-in online co-op.
No specific release date or pricing details were given.

Priests Misrepresented in Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles Controversy

A few days ago, word got out that a trio of clergymen in the United Kingdom had condemned Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles for "promoting the occult and glamorizing violence," thus prompting Capcom to respond.

Total Video Games contacted the three men of the cloth, and they all reportedly "expressed surprise that their thoughts have been expressed in such a way and stressed that they have no knowledge of the game in question and as such wouldn't be in the position to comment on the subject."

Find more top gaming news, videos, and blogs on GamerBlips: Gaming, Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, Capcom

MEDIA - Second Okamiden Trailer

Capcom released this week a second trailer for their 2010 DS sequel to Okami. The trailer shows much from previous footage and reveals details both from the first game and completely new.

This new trailer for Okamiden: Chisaki Taiyou is twice as long as the first and shows some more details of the main character's paintbrush powers as well as a few narrative bits.

This is the first footage of the DS game showing trees and other objects being restored with the paintbrush symbols. Previous images had shown this, revealing that the mechanic for repairing things like bridges has been slightly altered from Okami.

In the last Okamiden trailer, footage was shown of the player directing sidekick Kuninushi with the paintbrush with little exposition as to why. This new footage sows Kuninushi walking across an earth bridge as it shakes beneath him in order to activate a sturdier bridge. This indicates that Kuninushi may be a lighter character that can cross obstacles protagonist Chibiterasu might not ...

Find more top gaming news, videos, and blogs on GamerBlips: Gaming, DS, Okami, Capcom

Inafune Still Talking About MegaMan Legends 3

What's new in the news for MegaMan Legends 3? Not much, except to say that Producer Keiji Inafune still wants to make it. From the latest 4 Guys, 1UP Podcast, Capcom Community Manager Seth Killian had the following to say on the matter:

"It's definitely not dead and Inafune says, I saw him yesterday and he always says that. He knows that's a question from fans all the time and he talks about it all the time: 'you know when I finally get some time, I'm going to work on a Legends 3 or something.' He definitely would like to see it happen."

As we all would. But the way Capcom keeps cranking out games, when will he ever "finally get some time?"

Find more top gaming news, videos, and blogs on GamerBlips: Gaming, Megaman Legends, Capcom, 1up

Videogames get enough crap for being excessively violent, but today's games aren't as bad as they used to be. Back then, the average walk-and-punch beat-em-ups would also encourage our nation's youth to eat food off the ground, thanks to the health-regenerating food that would appear out of broken barrels, telephone booths, or fire hydrants, and then lay on the filthy ground as hooligans got the snot beat out of them inches away. Absurd at first, it was soon a widely accepted part of the genre, and really, the unwavering dedication of those game developers is worth remembering and respecting. Here, now, is a selection of the best foods from the beat-em-ups of the '90s. They're reflective of a simpler time, when tables and silverware were mere novelties for the common man.

Final Fight Characters Join Super Street Fighter IV

Say hello to Cody Travers -- not the clean-cut hero of the Final Fight series, but the escaped convict of Street Fighter Alpha 3 , the dude who can attack people with shivs and perform assorted other mean-spirited attacks.

He, in somewhat less pixilated and more 3D-y form, is slated to join the fighter stable for Capcom's upcoming Super Street Fighter IV . He'll be joined by two other Alpha fighters: Guy, a ninja and friend of Cody's from Final Fighter, and Adon, a Muay Thai fighter and student of Sagat's. All three will have their usual array of moves, along with some new Ultra Combos to make them fit better into SFIV's game system.

SSFIV is due out next spring for the PS3, 360 and PC.

Clergymen Accuse Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles of Promoting the Occult, Capcom Responds

I hope that everyone has been doing their prescribed eye-rolling workouts, because you're going to need the benefits of training for this one.

Three UK clergymen, Bishop Bryant of Jarrow, Archdeacon Brian Smith, and Rt Rev John Goddard, have each accused Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles of promoting the occult and glamorizing violence. The latter said "If we dabble in this area we open ourselves to influences and put ourselves at risk. I would regard any encouragement for children to be drawn into this behaviour with extreme horror."

Find more top gaming news, videos, and blogs on GamerBlips: Gaming, Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, Capcom

Second Downloadable Resident Evil 5 Episode To Be Called "Desperate Escape"

Capcom may not have publicly announced what the second Resident Evil 5 downloadable episode will be called, but the publisher had to tell others -- and Internet sleuths followed the trail. According to Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition 's breakdown at the British Board of Film Classification , the second downloadable episode for Resident Evil 5 will be called Desperate Escape .
Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition collects all the downloadable content into one retail package. That bundle will be released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in March, but the downloadable content itself will be rolled out in waves before that. The content is not planned for the PC right now.
Of course, the name Desperate Escape doesn't include "important" details that explain what exactly players will be doing during Desperate Escape ...but hey, it's a start.
All this talk of Resident Evil 5 is just reminding me I never finished the damn game.

Capcom's Svensson: "Nothing is More Difficult" Than Launching New IP

A frequent point of contention in the video game business is the need for new intellectual property versus returning to the well with sequels, remakes, spin-offs, etc. During a recent interview with gameindustry.biz, Capcom Vice President of Strategic Planning and Business Development Christian Svensson explains the difficulty found in trying to get new IP off the ground.

One item he notes is Jun Takeuchi's presentation at DICE last year, in which he says developers should "Try to keep new IP development to about 20 per cent of your portfolio." Svensson says that it tends to edge up at the beginning of a hardware cycle and gradually decrease over a console's lifespan. "I would say right now we're in the middle, so we're probably right on target," said Svensson, adding "[w]e do need to be creating new brands for the future: that's how we grow the company."

Find more top gaming news, videos, and blogs on GamerBlips: Gaming, Capcom

Capcom's Monster Hunter franchise has been explosively popular in Japan, but hasn't had the same kind of success in the West. The company is hanging its hopes on Monster Hunter Tri, which hits U.S. shores in March 2010. Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto talks to Gamasutra in our latest feature about ways the team considered to make the game appeal to Western audiences. One surprise is that a title that relies so much on networked play is ...

In case you weren’t aware, Valve’s zombie-fest Left 4 Dead 2 went on sale on Tuesday. But what you may not know is that it wasn’t the only zombie game released this week. As PlayStation 3 users can tell you, Capcom’s classic Resident Evil 2 is now available for download from the PlayStation Store for just $5.99.
Anyone out there picked up the game yet? If so, how does it hold up? Anyone playing the game for the first time?

Resident Evil 5 Downloadable Content Not Planned For PC Version "At This Point"

Remember the slate of downloadable content for Resident Evil 5 I wrote about yesterday ? In the announcement, Capcom seemed to pretend there wasn't a PC version of R esident Evil 5 . That's because the company hasn't scheduled the content to be released for the PC version.
"No plans for PC at this point," said a Capcom spokesperson to me this morning.
Capcom has been a surprisingly strong supporter of the PC platform and digital distribution in the past few years, traditionally releasing PC versions of its high-profile games a few months after the console versions. This year, it happened with both Resident Evil 5 and Street Fighter IV .
If you want the extra content, such as two new single-player episodes, you'll need a console.
Have something to share? Have a news tip? E-mail me . You can also follow me on Twitter .

Capcom Revealing Super Street Fighter IV Character Soon...Who Is He/She/It?

In addition to bringing back fan favorites from Super Street Fighter II Turbo , Capcom is padding the lineup to Super Street Fighter IV . According to Capcom's Japanese blog for the game (via Andriasang ), another character unveil for the sequel update is coming, though Capcom's obviously keeping quiet on the specifics.
Capcom teased an image with Chun-Li, which you'll see to the right. There doesn't seem to be a clue about who the character is, unless that dark half-circle's meant to suggest...something. They've got me stumped.
Let the guessing begin.
At least it's not a countdown this time.

News: Ace Attorney WiiWare ports for Europe

Three games due out in 2010. Capcom has confirmed that the three planned Ace Attorney WiiWare ports will be released in Europe next year for 1000 Wii Points apiece. Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney will be first, in "early 2010", followed by Justice for All in "spring" and Trials and Tribulations at an unspecified later date. The US got a bit more specific information: January for AA, March for Justice and May for Trials. Interestingly, the first instalment will actually be slightly split, with the first four of Wright's court cases in the core release, and the fifth one released separately for another 100 Wii Points. The latter will arrive in the US in May, apparently, with no immediate word on a European date, although it will happen.
Xbox 360 | Dark Void film rights bought, game delayed a week

Capcom's jetpack action game pushed back as publisher announces big-screen partnership with Brad Pitt's production company.
Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li may have taken a beating worthy of Miguel Cotto at the box office, but Capcom isn't letting that derail its latest Hollywood push. Today the publisher announced that it has reached an agreement with Reliance Big Entertainment and Plan B Entertainment--the production company of Brad Pitt--for the film rights to Capcom's upcoming Dark Void.

He kind of looks like Brad Pitt.
The publisher said the game is being adapted as "a sci-fi action franchise and potential starring vehicle for Pitt." Plan B has produced a number of hit films, including The Departed , Charlie and the Chocolate Factory , and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford , which saw Pitt in the role of the doomed gunslinger. It is also producing the upcoming version of Wanted ...

Find more top gaming news, videos, and blogs on GamerBlips: Gaming, Dark Void, Xbox 360, Capcom, The Plan

Media: Resident Evil 5 Goes for the Gold with New Content

Today, Capcom has officially announced their plans for bringing over the contents of Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition to North America. As we predicted, not only will the content be available through downloads, but there will also be a retail version known as "Resident Evil: Gold Edition," which features everything on a $49.99 Blu-ray for PlayStation 3, while Xbox 360 owners get a DVD with a download token.

Strangely, however, there is no mention of motion control augmentation for the PS3 version. Perhaps they're simply not ready to go into detail?

Check out all the details from the press release after the cut, and further down, the schedule for the release of the content online. And once you've finished that, we have 14 new images to view in our gallery.

Find more top gaming news, videos, and blogs on GamerBlips: Gaming, Resident Evil 5, PS3, Capcom, Resident Evil, Xbox 360
