Kojima on Snatcher, Adventure Game Genre

While Hideo Kojima is best-known for Metal Gear Solid, and we're all awaiting the return of Zone of the Enders, he recently got a chance to reflect on his other franchise, the cyberpunk adventure game Snatcher. In an interview with Famitsu, transcribed by 1up.com, Kojima, alongside 428: In The Blocked Shibuya writer Jiro Ishii, talked about the game's connection to the acclaimed cyberpunk film Blade Runner, and the adventure genre's connection's to Kojima's own career. He also makes a rather interesting statement on the future of the gaming industry: "This point isn't limited to the game business, but if we don't have an environment where developers can make what they want and find an audience for it, then I think it's all going to come crashing down," he said. "I think we'll see fewer people wanting to get into games, and that's dangerous."
