Game developers Brian Reynolds of Zynga and Richard Lemarchand of Naughty Dog will present sessions at Las Vegas' DICE Summit 2010 in February, alongside oceanographer and Titanic co-discoverer David Gallo. News: Chunky Uncharted 2 patch this week

New map, skins, boards, double cash. Naughty Dog plans to release a Thanksgiving update for Uncharted 2 this week featuring a new map, new character models and leaderboards. Not content with that, it's also having a "double cash" weekend between 6pm GMT tomorrow and 7pm GMT on Monday, during which the money you get for multiplayer feats will be - you guessed it - doubled. The new map is The Fort, and was inspired by the Fortress chapter of the original game. Naughty Dog has said to expect "a long rectangular map with wide open spaces and excellent flank routes". Uncharted 2 Gets Free Multiplayer Map Friday

Christmas (or Chanukah, or Kwanzaa, or whatever the heck you celebrate) will come very early from Naughty Dog on Friday, as the developer will release a new multiplayer map for the super-critically-acclaimed Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. The map, called "Fort", is based on the "Fortress" level, and is a long rectangular map with plenty of places to flank. The best part? The update is absolutely free of charge, kicks off a "Double Cash" weekend, and adds in Doughnut versions of Drake and Lazarevic as playable characters. It makes them fat, by the way. Just like you'll be the day it comes out!

Facebook arrives on Playstation 3 with Firmware update V3.10

Sony has announced that the latest firmware update for the Playstation 3 will soon be ready for download. Though failing to add the much demanded cross-game chat feature, firmware 3.10 still holds some welcome features. Most interestingly, Playstation 3 users will now be able to directly link their profiles to their Facebook account, with the option to automatically update their Facebook pages with trophy details and new game purchases. Developers will also be able to use this feature within their games (as demonstrated in Naughty Dog’s recent Uncharted 2). While you will still have to use the PS3s browser to view Facebook itself, this is a nice little edition to the console, bringing Sony one small step closer towards its ultimate goal of making the Playstation 3 an all-encompassing media hub. NPD: Uncharted 2 Heads October 2009 U.S. Game Sales

Though U.S. retail console game software slumped 18% year-on-year in October 2009, Naughty Dog's PlayStation 3 exclusive Uncharted 2: Among Thieves nonetheless topped the NPD charts, with 537,000 units sold. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Has Sold More Than 1 Million Copies

Nathan Drake's going to have better luck at retail the second time around, it seems. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves has already sold over a million copies. Sony Computer Entertainment America's senior VP of business development Phil Rosenberg announced the news just a little while ago at the BMO Capital Markets "Digital Entertainment Conference" in New York. "As of last week, we've already sold over a million copies [of Uncharted 2 ] in just a couple weeks on the market," said Rosenberg. Naughty Dog is currently working on downloadable content for Uncharted 2 , but the studio hasn't announced what exactly they have in the works. More single-player, please! (No, I don't expect that. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves was undeniably the biggest game of October and as such, the game's sales have been quite impressive. At the BMO Capital Markets Digital Entertainment Conference today, Philip Rosenburg - senior vice president of Sony - was proud to share the success of Naughty Dog's latest creation. According to Rosenburg, "It's the second highest rated PS3 game ever, and as of last week, we have already sold over a million copies in just a couple weeks of being on the market." Let's hope this is a trend that continues for PlayStation exclusives... for Sony's sake.

Naughty Dog Polling on Uncharted 2 Multiplayer Modes

If you're not too distracted with other multiplayer games , Naughty Dog is looking for your opinion on what should come next for Uncharted 2 . The company site is hosting a poll asking what Multiplayer playlist the fans would like to see next. Naughty Dog's Arne Meyer describes each choice on the PlayStation.Blog for those who want to make an informed decision. Plunder Only would restrict the games to plunder game types. The two Crushing modes (All Game Types and Deathmatch Only) would set rules to the harder difficulty for those two playlists. Skilled Objectives would reset skill levels specific to each objective-based playlist. Finally, Deathmatch Varients Only would restrict games to include sniper/pistole, pistole/grenades, RPGs, and Crushing difficulty.
