I have a thing for light gun games, going back to games like Duck Hunt (Clay Shooting was bliss) and GumShoe on NES. The love affair relaxed for a bit after the NES days, but came back in full force when I first saw The House of the Dead and Time Crisis in arcades. I probably put enough ...

House of the Dead: Overkill is a prime example of what third party developers should be doing for Wii. Overkill is fun, impressive, and just a great game. The best installment of House of the Dead.

Overall, House of the Dead: Overkill is an absurd, playful, arcade-like experience. Every facet of the presentation is hysterical, from the music to the over-the-top plot. Despite some visual quirks, Overkill is a blast from start to finish and holds up well to ...

Short, but very sweet since Sega didn’t pull any game extension tricks. Sega and Headstrong Games have earned a bag of lollipops for a job well done.

Review: House of the Dead Overkill —
Wii Wii
By most ordinary critical standards, House of the Dead Overkill isn’t a five-star game. However, it’s a long time since I played anything which put such a grin on my face throughout, and from gloriously profane beginning to genuinely jaw-flooring climax (seriously, no matter what ...

House of the Dead: Overkill may not have a huge amount of longevity in it for single players, but that’s not what the series is really about. As long as you can approach the game with that flaw in mind and you aren’t going to be massively ...

British developers Headstrong have truly bought something fresh and exciting to the genre, with liberal influence and generally successful execution. Infinitely replayable, and thoroughly enjoyable, Light Gun fans mustn’t miss out.

The first game in SEGA's early 2009 Wii onslaught is a resounding success. There's no doubt whatsoever that Headstrong lavished a lot of love on The House of the Dead: Overkill and that they hold a lot of affection for the series as a whole

Overkill is the most offensive, outrageous game we've played and we love it. Mature lightgun fans need this.

+ Hilariously dodgy cutscenes
+ Great fun in co-op mode
+ High score system is addictive

The dialogue is strained, and the barrage of f-bombs is played out by the second level, but there are several genuinely funny moments. For a few quick rounds of cheesy, light gun-style action, this new House is one worth visiting.

Review: Reanimated.
Let's start with the blood. There's lots of it. So much in fact that it's sometimes hard to see what you're supposed to be shooting at next. And the swearing? Worse. It makes a Roy Chubby Brown boxset seem fit for prime time Saturday viewing. But we've got no problems with ...
