Master Higgins returns in Adventure Island: The Beginning, a 3D return of the original games' formula. The game will also include several mini-games based around the different island locales.
Going by the screenshots this might be a hit or miss game. Not going for a retro look may have been a mistake. Hopefully it looks better in motion.
