Backwards compatibility in consoles used to be a huge deal. Now, I don’t know that it really matters that much. It’s nice to have, but I wouldn’t call it a necessity. The Wii plays Cube games, but it offers a virtual library for older platforms. When the next Nintendo console rolls around, would backwards compatibility be a major selling point for you?
