Manhunt 2 PC Planned: Rated AO (For Now)
Blue's News — ... ). The console versions of the game were originally also given an AO rating before some of the content in the game was tamed down, and even then the BBFC rejected the new version for sale in the UK before this ruling was changed by a lawsuit. Currently it is not clear if the Windows version of the game has includes the content removed from the console editions or if this rating will be appealed. Thanks Joystiq .

ESRB Lets Manhunt 2 PC Out of the Bag
Aeropause Games — ... launch announcements.  That trend has continued today with the ESRB putting up a listing for Manhunt 2 on the PC. Now a Manhunt 2 listing is not all that surprising, as Rockstar has always ended up bringing titles to the PC after a lag period for the consoles.  From Grand Theft Auto to Bully, there has always been a PC verion of most of their titles.  The bigger surprise in the listing for Manhunt 2 is the AO rating that has been attached to the title. ESRB Rates Adults-Only Manhunt 2 for PC
GameLife — ... content down to an M, because stores just don’t sell AO-rated games. Since the ESRB has now published the rating, this most likely means that Rockstar is pressing ahead with the unexpurgated version for the PC market. And since retailers haven’t changed their policies on selling AO-rated games, it’s probably safe to assume they’d be selling this director’s cut online. Very interesting. Looking forward to seeing what happens. [via Joystiq]

Manhunt 2 coming to PC, ESRB gives it an AO rating
Destructoid — ... with this problem before with the Wii release in 2007, Rockstar resubmitted a gimped version to escape the rating. They earned a solid “Mature” and an invisible ticket to sell the title in stores for their troubles. Not a bad deal. But that brings us to this: Rockstar obviously has a retail-approved title, so what the hell is in Manhunt 2 making wretched enough to deserve an AO rating? We asked Rockstar and have yet to hear back. [via Joystiq]

Manhunt 2, The Uncut Edition [Manhunt]
Kotaku — ... it seems Rockstar are willing to give the game one more chance, and release it uncut, as was originally unintended. The game has returned to the ESRB's website with its "Adults Only" rating restored, only this time bound for the PC instead of a console. With Rockstar's titles already available on digital delivery services like Steam, a PC download release of the game in its uncut form wouldn't be too bad an idea. Not like it's going to lose them any money. ESRB rates 'AO' version of Manhunt 2 for PC [Joystiq] ...

Manhunt 2 For PC Earns An Adults-Only Rating From ESRB
GayGamer.net — ... posted on its game ratings page, where it's listed as Adults Only. However, there's been no word yet from Rockstar about whether the content of the AO-rated PC version of Manhunt 2 is the same as the original AO-rated game content. But the listing alone should be enough for Manhunt purists (you're out there, right?) to take heart. Or at least, to cut the still-beating heart out of the chest of a virtual hospital attendant. Take your pick. ESRB rates 'AO' version of Manhunt 2 for PC [Joystiq]

PC Version of Manhunt 2 May Carry an AO Rating, But How Will It Get Sold?
GamePolitics News — ... As noted by Joystiq, the ESRB is currently listing the upcoming PC version of Manhunt 2 with an Adults Only (AO) rating. ...

Manhunt 2 for PC Rated Adults Only
The Escapist : Latest News — ... mores and ESRB standards have changed dramatically over the past two years and that the original cut of the game will somehow magically earn an M rating as a result, there seems to be absolutely no point in going through all that trouble a second time just to end up in the same place. Rockstar hasn't yet commented on the matter so it's all conjecture at this point but the hope that we might yet see Manhunt 2 in its original, depraved glory suddenly seems very real. Sorry Wii owners, if you want to play the unedited version of Manhunt 2, you’re going to have to get it for the PC. For me, the edits in Manhunt 2 really killed the vibe of the game. A true disappointment, since I didn’t find that actual gameplay to be all that bad. Link
