Dumb Mom Ruins Kids' Present - Be-Wii-eve It Or Not
GayGamer.net —
... I'm not going to deny that there are people that dumb in the world, and Nintendo apparently already knows this. I've also got no reason to doubt Mr. HUELEN10, but the story certainly sounds like something right out of the Urban Legend playbook. So I'll leave it up to you to decide if it's a real story about the dangers of folks getting in over their heads, technologically speaking, or just another attempt at making non-gamers look like fools.

Tales of the expanded audience - Wiis don’t accept credit cards through the disc slot
GoNintendo —
... below. Anywho, the Mom asks me what VC is, and I told her. I told her that all she needed to do was put in her credit card when prompted on the Shop Channel, and get the amount of points she wanted. I also told her what WiiSpeak is, and how to connect her Wii to the internet via an ethernet connection. Anywho, I got a call today from the mom telling me that the Wii is not working. I asked what was wrong and you won’t believe it……… SHE PHYSICALLY PUT 3 CREDIT CARDS INTO THE DISC SLOT. Full post here (thanks PimpinGangsta!) Fail: Lady Breaks Wii by Entering Her Credit Cards -- Through the Disc Slot
Kombo.com —
[image] Thanks to Kombo reader Adam Sorice, we have a doozy of a story to end your 2008 with. A NeoGAF poster by the name of HUELEN10 tells of his neighbors who recently got their kids a Wii for Christmas. Asked for gaming recommendations, he names a few no-brainers: Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart Wii, etc. He also names a few Virtual Console games, and that is where things get interesting... Intrigued by the prospect of downloading new and classic games from home, she presses on for details, and he explains the ease of the process to her, instructing her to "put in her ...
Dumb Lady Physically Puts Credit Cards In Wii [Oddities]
Kotaku —
... that that one could not be accepted, so she kept putting them in and they will not come out. I might try to remove them tomorrow with her hubby while she is away on a business trip. There are pics, so that must mean it happened, no? We just checked the SUPER SAFE Japanese Wii manual, and there's nothing about not putting your credit cards in your Wii. Though, there is a warning about putting a four leaf clover in it. So don't go doing that! Fail & More Fail: GAF Tells REAL Stupid Owner Stories [NeoGAF via Kombo] ...
Woman Puts Credit Cards In Her Wii
G4 TV - TheFeed —
... put 3 credit cards into the disc slot of her Wii. No joke. When the credit card number prompt came up on the screen, the woman jammed a credit card into the system, and then another, and then another. There is a Wii out there with no less that 3 credit cards forced into the disc slot because the owner thought that was how you purchase Nintendo Points. Worst part about it, the idiot lady neighbor expects "HUELEN10" to pay for the repairs. Good luck with that.

Wii Slot For Discs, Not Credit Cards

... console, but they should probably take a common sense test before trying to buy from the Wii's Virtual Console. One would think that the difference between a DVD player or game console and a cash register would be nearly universally understood at this point in history. Yet the story of how one mom lost three credit cards inside her Wii console proves that one should never assume that the customer knows how to properly use the equipment he or she is buying. The neighbors of one NeoGAF forum-goer, a couple with young kids, decided to purchase a Wii for the family for ...
