Sounds like it could make for a fairly novel action flick, eh? Well, as Variety informs us, that's the exact plot of a 2005 video game called Shattered Union. Jerry Bruckheimer has hired writer J. Michael Straczynski to adapt the videogame Shattered Union for the silver screen, reports Variety.
The turn-based tactics game released by 2K Games in 2005 imagines the U.S. split by civil war after an unpopular presidency. Washington, D.C. is demolished by a nuclear blast, states secede from the union and war is waged on American soil.
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer, best known for steering the Pirates of the Caribbean series toward El Dorado, is finishing his big-screen adaptation of the game Prince of Persia.
