StarCraft II in 2010?

... quotes Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia's theory that Blizzard may push the release of StarCraft II into next year, apparently based on delays to the launch of the game's beta test. Analyst: StarCraft II Will Release In 2010
G4 TV - TheFeed —
... us. I'd love for a release date reveal at BlizzCon in August.
A 2009 release is still feasible if the beta starts up within one or two weeks. As it stands, the multiplayer component is a separate beast from the title's singleplayer part. It won't be balanced at release regardless of how long the beta runs and Blizzard could feel that the competitive piece is in a good place near the end of the year.
Time will tell. I just want the beta!

Analyst Predicts Starcraft 2 Delay
GameLife —
... over a decade for. Would its sales really be cannibalized by Modern Warfare? If Starcraft 2 was delayed, it could also be due to Blizzard’s policy of taking as much time as it needs to complete a game.
Even if the game’s launch is postponed to early 2010, Starcraft 2 should still be a big money-maker. Plus, if there is a delay, angry fans can hope that Blizzard changes their mind and puts local area network play back in.
