Some interesting things within the press release:
- The launch colors will just be blue and black.
- “In addition to downloadable games, Nintendo DSi is able to play games made specifically for the system and sold at retail.” - This is worded awkwardly, but it could mean that there will be DSi only retail games, GBC-style.
- Rhythm Heaven will launch alongside it.

Interestingly, it talks about the game’s music being composed by Japanese producer TSUNKU, so it seems that an EBA-style makeover is off the cards. ...

Go punch up pspgo.co.uk. That's not exactly the product being being flogged there, is it. A Chinese registrant picked up the domain name in late April, and has plastered it with a replica of the DSi's product page. Now, as Destructoid points out, there ain't no page forpspgo.com, so maybe Sony really doesn't give a crap here. It looks like this guy went squatting on a domain he thought they'd want, and has gotten really spiteful now that no money has changed hands. For downloads this week, Nintendo has gone and pull out a ninja classic that old school fans will love, as well as adding a little bit of rock out fun on your DSi.
Hitting the Virtual Console this week, we have The Revenge of Shinobi, the classic side-scrolling ninja fighter that became a classic with gamers back in the early 1990’s. As for rocking out, Gameloft seems to be latching into the Rock Band mantra with Guitar Rock Tour, which allows DSi owners to play and remix songs, as well as take pictures to add to the ambience of their stage.

Today’s (yesterday’s) Nintendo WiiWare/DSiWare update comes along with a friendly warning that the free 1000 DSiWare points offer is about to expire. Any DSi handhelds purchased and registered by October 5, 2009 get the $10 buff. Any bought after that get bubkis.
In ‘Ware news, today I learned the full names of the “stars” of Contra: Lance Bean and Bill Rizer. Contra Rebirth, thus far a 1000-point WiiWare exclusive, replaces Lance with space samurai Genbei Yagyu. You may remember him from 2004’s Neo Contra. Or you may not.

Because that’s just about the only item showing up in this week’s Nintendo Download. $5 for Final Fantasy sounds a fair bit better than $10 for last week’s Altered Beast. Seriously, what was up with that pricing? Was that a typo and nobody noticed because Altered Beast sucks?

A light week for Wii and DSi downloads, with only three new games on tap.
500 points gets you a pinball game on DSi, Pinball Pulse: The Ancients Beckon. Or you could pick up Gravitronix on WiiWare, which looks like an 8-player circular Pong with an anime vibe and all the chaos of Hungry Hungry Hippos with a four year old.

This week, Nintendo has eight new downloads for their Wii and DSi storefronts. For those that want a classic fix, you can get RYGAR from the virtual console for 600 points.
The DSiWare store brings Nintendo DSi owners five different Domo games, including a Hard Hat Domo title that sounds very similar to the PC classic Hard Hat Mack. Each of these titles will set you back 200 DSiPoints.
Finally, the WiiWare gets a new case of the Lost Winds, as Frontier has released Lost Winds: Winter of the Melodias, a second entry for the critically acclaimed Lost Winds series of games.

The four-player World Rally sells for 1000 Wii points, has online play, and the much-loved Excitebike level editor.

There’s some serious action in this week’s Nintendo Download, including the long-requested favorite Super Mario Kart.
Japan has had SNES Mario Kart on the VC since June, so it seems clear Nintendo of America was holding this one for a tentpole holiday release. 800 Wii Points gets you this franchise-birthing classic.
