... from an interview on Britain's Radio One last night, in which TT swore a new LEGO game would be out this year. Despite earlier indications their next game would be a LEGO Harry Potter, VG's source - who claims to be "100 percent correct” - has instead made the Rock Band call. Seems like an absolute waste of the LEGO name, not to mention a pointless overcrowding of the Rock Band "genre", but hey, crazier, stupider things have happened in this business. Someone please explain to me how this makes sense. A rumor concerning the next LEGO game just dropped into my inbox, and apparently, an inside source claims that TT Games is going to bring the building block franchise to the world of Rock Band. Am I missing something here? Why on earth would you want to mix those things together? Why would this make a new game experience that is worthy of a purchase? Thanks to all that sent this in. So we'll have see how this pans out. Earlier rumors pegged the next Lego game as something in the Harry Potter universe, but perhaps the delay of the movie (and game adaptation) until this summer put those on the back burner.

A Lego Potter game would have to be a collaboration with EA, as the publisher owns game rights to the Hogwarts hyper-franchise.
