Wii Fit in Japan: 3 Million Strong, and Growing
Kombo.com —
[image] Just over a year ago, in December of 2007, Nintendo unleashed the raw fury of Wii Fit upon the unsuspecting masses of Japan. And apparently, they liked it, as Famitsu reports the workout-in-a-box has moved some 3 million units over the past year; last time numbers were out, they were about 200,000 less. Kotaku attributes the boost to Christmas sales, but does Japan really get that sort of boost for that holiday? I know they celebrate it there, but not exactly in the way we do.
'Wii Fit' Breaks Sales Bank
G4 TV - TheFeed —
Wii Fit has sold an unbelievable three-million units in Japan. The figure is all the more remarkable when you consider the game's high cost due to the inclusion of the Balance Board.
It took 58 weeks for the Wii Fit to break the three-million barrier. Its sales weren't a sprint by any means, but the numbers show that Nintendo ran a very successful marathon with this game.
Congratulations, Iwata and Co!
