Pre-E3 09: Dante's Inferno teaser is a vocal sin

That might be a bit of an exaggeration. There's been some pretty horrendous VO work in the past (I'm looking at you, Capcom). But if they gave awards for worst vocal performance in a videogame, Dante's Inferno is currently on my shortlist for 2009 after this teaser. And it's just a taste of what is apparently a larger trailer -- called "Lust and Heresy" -- that will be coming down the pipe on the first of June. It does look very pretty, though. I'm interested to see gameplay. I am determined to give the game an even shake, even if I think that the way they've twisted the original work is ...

Dante's Inferno is an interesting beast: A video game based on an epic poem written to attack the political foes of the author in the 14th Century. While the poem tells the story of Dante journey through hell, purgatory and heaven as an observer, the game has him get hands on with things, very hands on. I spoke with the developers at length about the ideas and issues faced in tackling what is considered by many to be one of the greatest works of world literature.
