- Capcom have announced Lost Planet 2. I'm not sure who, exactly, was clamouring for Lost Planet 2, as the original was pretty dire. Its biggest problems were its clunky controls, horrible scripting and terrible voice acting, so it's pretty funny that to "fix" the franchise they've given it to the Resident Evil 5 producer. - Bioware have announced Mass Effect 2. You'll recall that the original was my Game of the Year 2007, so I'm pretty hyped about a sequel. The original Lost Planet was a shooter relentlessly set on an icy planet, where you had to continually gather warmth power-ups to keep from freezing to death. It was weird in that way Japanese games can be weird, a bit clunky in that way first games in a franchise can be clunky, and too focused on boss battles in that way Capcom games can be too focused on boss battles. But other than that, it was like playing a shooter on Hoth.
Now Capcom promises some climate change for the sequel. Lost Planet 2 picks up 10 years since the events of the original adventure and the landscape has evolved dramatically. With the success ...
