PC game gun mod, looks kind of neat
Gaming Nexus —
by: John Yan NEWS - Normally, I would kind of skim through items like these and not think twice but check out this guy's work on creating a PC game gun that acts like a head tracking unit using a toy gun from Walmart, gyro mouse, and a few other parts. It has a mounted LCD panel so it acts like your field of vision when you look down the barrel of the gun. You can watch it move around on the monitor in the background that mirrors what the guy see's on the LCD screen. Talk about a nice little project. ...
Mulleted mystery man invents PC VR Game Gun
Joystiq —
It's an indisputable fact that magical things can come in mullet-clad packages. The collected works of Billy Ray Cyrus, the 1994 hit Beastie Boys track "Mullet Head" -- and now, from yet another unlikely, mulleted source: The PC VR Game Gun. If you'd like to cast off the veil of time and peer into the unthinkable ...
Disk? Go? Machinegun!: GameGun! The Gamegun!
Rock, Paper, Shotgun —
Check the timestamp on this post. Within the minute from then, Walker will be in my AIM window telling me off for using such a horrible grab-from-you-tube. But it’s too late! Too late! You’ll never catch me and there’s nothing else that can replace it. Ahahahahaha, etc. Er… Parkin forwarded this to me, which has been doing the rounds for the last couple of days. It’s a gent who’s made his own VR gamegun, by tying a motion sensor and a camera to a plastic gun. He turns, the game turns. He shoots, the game shoots. He speaks, he has an awesome accent, but that’s nothing do with the gamegun. You must watch, ...

The "Game Gun" Guy As Lovable As He Is Crazy [Clips]
Kotaku —
Meet the "Game Gun" guy. He's stuck an LCD screen and some motion controls to a plastic gun, creating the PC Game Gun. He is crazy. But crazy in a good way. Yes, he's creepy, awkward, a little too off-centre. But there's a boyish enthusiasm for his craft underpinning the whole thing. Like Loius from Ghostbusters. Only with a mullet. The VRgameGun Shows Innovation Isn't Dead
Kombo.com —
Again, PC gaming isn't something we normally cover here on Kombo, but some stuff is just too neat (or simply bewildering) to avoid mentioning. And that brings us to the VRgameGun, which our VP/PR/Navi ("Look! Listen!) Sean O'Neill brought to my attention.
It's a game gun for the PC (though I would imagine it might be possible to apply the tech to something like the Wii, Xbox 360, or PlayStation 3) which features "Full Motion Tracking." What that basically means is if you move the gun, it moves the mouse.
Definitely a cool concept, though I'm unsure of how practical it is; it seems as though a game with lots of walking could potentially present something of a problem, ...
Awesome wireless game gun won't make you better at games
Destructoid —
Badass community member and all around swell fellow unstoppablejuggernaut spotted a nifty gadget on YouTube. It's called the GameGun and it's a gun for games. Nothing new there, right? Wrong. It's more than just a fancy light gun it's got motion tracking, meaning that your movements are what appear on screen. Turn left, you turn left. Move forward, you move forward. It doesn't use drivers, so it works with every game out there. The video above has what appears to be the inventor of the gun and owner of Blackhall, the "company" behind the the GameGun, showing the very cool looking tech off. I'm a bit dubious about the ...
