Siliconera — A Closer Look At Square Enix’s Nier By Spencer . May 29, 2009 . 6:18pm Square Enix announced Nier this morning, but didn’t divulge details. This trailer shows a lot more of the game, introduces the hero who looks like a Viking, and the shadowy creatures he fights. The official site explains Nier is armed with more than an enormous sword. He has multiple weapons and can magic. Square Enix also says players will “explore hauntingly familiar lands”. Hmm… is Nier a post a-plauge-yptic vision of Earth? The future of Ivalice?

Square Enix' NIER Unveiled [E3 2009]
Kotaku — Square Enix had decided to jump on the pre-E3 game announcement bandwagon, making live their site for their recently announced game, NIER. Looking over the screens and the college art film trailer, it looks like the game will be Square's answer to Bayonetta, which in turn was Platinum's answer to Devil May Cry. The game is being developed by Cavia, which also developed Bullet Witch and Drakengard 2.
