Ozzy Osbourne and Steve Van Sandt in two new TV commercials
WoW.com —
Filed under: Warlock, Virtual selves, Odds and ends, News items, NPCs, Wrath of the Lich King Blizzard has put together two new TV spots for the holiday season. The first, seen above, features Steven van Zandt (better known as Silvio Dante on The Sopranos, but also a real-life performer in Bruce Springsteen's band) spouting an old Godfather III reference (that a lot of returning fans are probably saying to themselves after re-entering Warcraft for level 80). And the second (definitely the more hilarious one) ...

Blizzard Yet Again Sets New Sales Record!
MMORPG Games & MMO News - MMOCrunch —
Blizzard has released its one day sales total for Wrath of the Lich King, which total 2.8 million copies sold in its first 24 hrs making it the fastest selling PC game of all time. This destroys the previous record also set by Blizzard of 2.4 million when then expansion The Burning Crusade was released in January 2007. This of course it is no surprise to anyone as World of Warcraft has been hovering around the 11 million subscribers mark and it seems that a good quarter of users are addicted enough to go rush out and pick up the highly anticipated expansion on day one.

Two new celeb based World of Warcraft TV commericals announced
Big Download Blog —
Filed under: Culture, MMO, Trailers, Video, World of Warcraft
Last year Blizzard had some fun with their World of Warcraft commercials, having actors like William Shatner, Verne Troyer and especially Mr. T explain their "love" of the game (more likely the love of getting some cash to do the TV ads). Now Blizzard has prepared two more similar commercials for the launch of the expansion pack Wrath of the Lich King. One of them is very brief and shows rocker and actor Steve Van Zandt doing his Sopranos character but the second is the funniest ...
Ozzy Does Prince of Darkness in World of Warcraft Ads
Aeropause Games —
With its highly successful world domination release of Wrath of the Lich King, Blizzard is not resting on its laurels. Today, a new advertising campaign was started, and is staring none other than the crowned Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne. While I could never actually picture Ozzy figuring out how to turn on a computer, or for that matter knowing what a computer is, but the commercial is pretty funny.

TwentyFifthNovember kills Sartharion with 3 adds up
MMO-Champion - World of Warcraft Guides and Raid Strategies - News —
TwentyFifthNovember kills Sartharion with 3 adds up This time, we can really say that TwentyFifthNovember cleared all the PvE content currently available in Wrath of the Lich King. They managed to kill Sartharion with all his adds up and were rewarded with the Reins of the Twilight Drake! I'm not really sure if it's worth discussing whether it was too easy or not, just keep in mind that they're the best PvE guild in the world for the moment, that's 60~80 players out of 11 millions. Congratulations to them, once again. ...

The Escapist : Latest News —
Ozzy Osbourne, the Godfather of Heavy Metal, turned 60 today, but for some reason I'm the one who's feeling old. The Madman managed to close out six decades of drawing breath despite years of epic self-inflicted abuse, both as the original lead singer of Black Sabbath ...
New World of Warcraft Adverts (Ozzy Osbourne)
Technology Blog (UK), Hi-Tech Gadgets & Gaming - Zath! —
To coincide with the recent release of the second World of Warcraft expansion pack - The Wrath of the Lich King (which incidentally it is now officially the fastest selling PC game ever), Blizzard have done a couple of new adverts showing another two celebrities talking about WoW.
Apparently the celebrities who feature in these adverts are actually celebrities who play World of Warcraft…I’m not sure to what extent that is actually true, perhaps they only had to be sat down in front of a computer and get to level 2 to qualify for that statement, or perhaps I’m just being cynical!
The first of the ...

Ozzie Osbourne Rocks BlizzCon [Pics]
Wandering Goblin —
Ever see a night elf head bang? I have. I’ve also seen trolls and tauren dance, and bunches of orcs throw up the metal horns en masse. My fellow gamer geeks, it seems, know how to rock.
Ozzie Osbourne has quite a quirky connection to Blizzard Entertainment. I mean, the guy isn’t exactly known for his gaming skills. But as every gamer worth his geek cred knows, Oz was featured in a commercial earlier this year for World of Warcraft. He and the Lich King squared off with memorable / legendary / hilarious results, depending on your perspective.
As a result of this, Blizzard decided that Ozzie would be the perfect choice for the closing act ...
