Full disclosure: I do not speak or read Japanese, and I don't know a thing about Pokémon. Commenters, I'm looking to you to provide context. Here is 16 seconds of gameplay from Heart Gold and Soul Silver which, if you are in my position, is two characters in a top-down adventure game walking in a square while people react excitedly. I'm assuming the text over the screen touts features or qualities of the remakes, which were announced (as promised) on the Pokémon Sunday television program in Japan. Well, here it is Pokémon fans! That Gold/Silver Nintendo DS remakes reveal footage you’ve been so eagerly awaiting. Last week, rumors about a Gold/Silver remakes announcement were confirmed a few days earlier than expected, and the above footage is what those rumors were all about. Sadly, there isn't much on display here, but the people on the show seem to be digging the hell out of it.

Pokemon Sunday Reveals First Footage of HeartGold and SoulSilver

One week ago, the Japanese television program Pokemon Sunday announced that there would be a big reveal on this week's show. And in the interim, we discovered that Nintendo is indeed bringing remakes of Gold and Silver, titled HeartGold and SoulSilver, to the Nintendo DS.
As a result, that took a little bit of the punch out of Pokemon Sunday's big surprise. Nonetheless, they managed to show off the first actual footage of the game:
...yeah. The player basically walks around within a small confined square, and they treat it like the greatest thing ever. At least it gives us a peek at the new graphics, but little more than that.
