I totally missed this, but Planet Virtual Boy held a homebrew coding competition earlier this year, and M.K.’s VB Racing took third place (out of six entries).
Unfortunately, VB Racing doesn’t share Outrun’s wonderful soundtrack, but it’s still a remarkable looking game, especially when you consider that it’s M.K.’s first VB project and that he managed to include the following:

Direct link here and here I didn’t even know there was a homebrew scene for the Virtual Boy. I need to get my hands on these games! Perhaps if titles like these hit at the launch of the VB, it would have stayed around a little longer.
